Palo Santo

It is a mystical tree that grows on the coast of South America. In Spanish, the name literally means "holy wood". Palo Santo wood has been used for a millennia as a physical and spiritual purification tool. To the shaman it is one of the most powerful and sacred substances that exist.
The Palo Santo wood comes from naturally fallen trees and branches that lie dead for 4-10 years before they are harvested. The magic is in the alchemical process that happens after the death of the tree. In order for the Palo Santo to gain its healing properties it must die a natural death and after that the tree must remain in its natural habitat to complete its metamorphosis. Only then do its sacred, medicinal, and mystical properties come alive. Once the tree finishes its vital cycle, the wood starts to compress and "sweeten" its essence. The oil of Palo Santo impregnates the wood and then acquires all the beneficial chemical components that previously remained hidden and latent in the tree.
Some of the most well known Palo Santo uses include inspiring creativity, protection, cleansing negative energy, and bringing both love and good fortune. It is a wonderful tool to use before and during your meditation. Its uplifting scent helps to raise your vibration to bring a deeper connection to the Earth and your divine source. It stimulates the person using it to be in touch with their own inner self, generating special states of concentration, balance, calm and peace.
In a physical level Palo Santo is traditionally used for relieving common cold and flu symptoms, asthma, allergies, migraines, stress, anxiety, depression, and more. In aromatherapy, Palo Santo essential oil is considered to be antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial.
